New arrival of Nigel Cabourn x Lybro Pleated Chinos (Four-pleat) is produced with inspiration from British Military in India during WWII. It is one of the collaboration pants with LYBRO brand, a company established in 1927 known for their workwear clothings during that era. For Nigel Cabourn's LYBRO line of clothings, you can expect of alot of hard-wearing fabrics and trims, with designs based on vintage inspirations. Mostly using British and Japanese fabrics, many of the clothings are created to feel and wear like they are the original vintage pieces.
We have recently stock this interesting Nigel Cabourn x Lybro Four-Pleat Chinos in both Dark Navy and Olive colour. As always, the fabric used are on this pants is fantastically comfortable and you can almost feel its good strength within the twill.
They are made of 100% Cotton that are woven in bigger yarn, like that of canvas but definitely does not feel like it. Its softness is exceptionally comfortable on your legs for long hours of wear. In a straight-fit with slightly tapered legs, this Four-Pleat Chinos has a classical silhouette for every physiques.
Noticed the little fading on the edges on the pocket flap, this little details can develop into much scintillating characters after wear and washes. Even when the pants is suppose to be built formal dress code, it is not unusual to see seasoned or washed-out pants worn by British Officer in the past. It has got some meaning to their seniority.
Another interesting detail is as obvious as shown in the name - Four-Pleat Chinos. As shown in the pictures are original British Military shorts/pants during WWII when stationed in India. So we have found out that the pleats of these original shorts/pants during that era are inwards (pointing to the buttonfly/zipper).
There seems to be many beliefs to the reason why pleats are pointing inwards in the past but in our present day is uncommon. One stirring hearsay is that, with inward pleats, the silhouette is slimmer than pleats pointing outwards. Which makes sense why you put your hands in the pockets...
Whatever the reason, we do know that this feature on Nigel Cabourn x Lybro's Pleated Chinos is original and succeeding its aesthetics.
