Union Special Chainstitch Hemming Service Singapore
Authentic Selvedge Denim Hemming Using Vintage Union Special 43200G
Looking for authentic chainstitch hemming in Singapore for your selvedge denim or raw jeans?
Since 2010, we have been offering professional Union Special chainstitch hemming services using the legendary vintage Union Special 43200G, the most sought-after hemming machines among denim enthusiasts worldwide.
Traditional chainstitch hemming preserves the authenticity of selvedge denim while producing the distinctive “roping” effect that develops beautifully over years of wear and fading.
Trusted by the Singapore denim community for over a decade, our hemming service is best suited for:
- Japanese selvedge denim
- Raw denim jeans
- Heavyweight denim
- Heritage workwear
- Cotton duck pants
Every pair is handled carefully with proper measurement, setup, and finishing using traditional methods true to vintage American and Japanese denim craftsmanship.
Note: We do not have the capability to alter waist/tapering or any other tailoring skills. We are leather-crafters who happen to have a great passion for denim, workwear and own two operating vintage Union Special machines.

Should I soak or wash raw denim before hemming?
Yes, absolutely recommended.
Raw denim may shrink after its first wash or soak. Hemming before shrinkage occurs may result in the jeans becoming too short afterward.
Please wash or soak your jeans before your appointment.
Should worn jeans be washed before appointment?
Yes, please!
For hygiene reasons and respect to the craftsman and workspace, heavily soiled or odorous jeans may be declined.
Can I walk in if I am willing to wait?
Unfortunately, no.
Appointments ensure every customer receives dedicated attention and proper craftsmanship. As a small independent workshop, hemming services are scheduled alongside our other daily operations.
We appreciate your understanding.
I’m visiting Singapore. Can exceptions be made?
We understand travel schedules can be tight, but appointments are still required to ensure fairness for all customers.
