Our slim cut jeans, made from 16oz slubby selvedge denim. The most heavily textured denim in the Iron Heart lineup, our 16oz slubby selvedge is woven slowly and loosely (think off-the-scale loom-chatter!), resulting in a more irregular twill and an uneven fabric hand on both the face and reverse. Compared to other heavyweight weaves, this is a softer, more breathable denim which brims with distinctive character.
To create this darkened variation, we take a pair of standard IH-555S-SLB jeans and steep the entire garment in black dye using a direct dyeing process. This stains the indigo denim and stitching, with the added bonus of removing all shrinkage from the fabric. A unique middle ground between our traditional indigo and black denims, over time the fabric will gradually fade with blue-tinged hues in high-wear areas.

Our Fabric Notes

The 16oz slubby denim features a more irregular texture, giving the fabric a distinct surface character. While still structured, it softens with wear and develops noticeable visual texture over time.

Our Fit Notes

The 555 is a slim straight cut with a relatively low to mid rise and a clean line through the leg. It fits closer through the thigh than Iron Heart’s classic straight cuts without feeling overly tapered. This is a good option if you prefer a sharper silhouette while still keeping a straight-leg profile.

Sanforized & One-Washed

• Sanforization is a post-weave mechanical process which removes most potential shrinkage from a fabric before garment construction
• To further reduce the risk of shrinkage, we wash the completed garment in an aggressive industrial washing machine. This process removes virtually all potential shrinkage.
• No further shrinkage is expected when washed according to our care guidelines

Stretch Details

• The waist will stretch out approximately 1" with wear. All other dimensions that are put under pressure will stretch proportionally to the waist

Care Guidelines

• We recommend washing this garment at 30°C with a low (or no) spin cycle. Hang dry, do not tumble dry
