Our super-slim cut jeans, made from 16oz slubby selvedge denim. The most heavily textured denim in the Iron Heart lineup, our 16oz slubby selvedge is woven slowly and loosely (think off-the-scale loom-chatter!), resulting in a more irregular twill and an uneven fabric hand on both the face and reverse. Compared to other heavyweight weaves, this is a softer, more breathable denim which brims with distinctive character.

To create this darkened variation, we take a pair of standard IH-555S-SLB jeans and steep the entire garment in black dye using a direct dyeing process. This stains the indigo denim and stitching, with the added bonus of removing all shrinkage from the fabric. A unique middle ground between our traditional indigo and black denims, over time the fabric will gradually fade with blue-tinged hues in high-wear areas.

  • The nature of this denim is such that there will be irregularities in the denim and substantial leg twist. Please do not buy these if you think that you won’t be able to live with these characteristics

An excellent weight and texture match!

I was hesitant about getting my first pair of slubby denim. Was not sure if I would like the fading results. But the slubby denim texture feeling and the 16oz weight was like a match made for each other! I am looking forward to breaking this in.
